Edinburgh-born cellist Peter Gregson is at the forefront of forward-thinking contemporary classical music. The musician and composer has made it a point to challenge the ideas of traditional performance spaces and tools, often working in unconventional ways that are met with celebrated acclaim more often than not. He performs on both the acoustic and the electric cello, depending on what each show or installation calls for, and is often in demand for commissioned work from companies and fellow artists. Alongside like-minded composers such as Max Richter and John Metcalfe, Gregson is doing his part to keep classical music relevant, thought-provoking and adventurous.
