Mexico City-based band Candy has little that's sweet about it. Owing much to the sound and look of The Misfits, Candy combines early punk sounds with some of punk's transition into post-punk and new wave. Lead singer Valentina carries the group with a distinctive voice, while her cohorts shred and bang. The band has a rising presence outside of Latin America, playing SXSW in 2012, and touring widely around North America.
