Dead Letter Circus is a progressive-minded alternative rock band from Brisbane, Australia. The group's use of dramatic vocals, polished production, shape-shifting song structures and attention to dynamics has earned it comparisons to modern prog-rock torchbearers such as The Mars Volta. Unlike many bands of its ilk, however, Dead Letter Circus is plenty capable of utilizing direct songwriting that can make its point in three or four minutes, rather than needing to stretch out for too long. As a result, the band's songs seem to be tailor-made and ready for modern rock radio to excavate--which seems primed to happen much sooner than later.
