With an over-the-top stage demeanor and a buoyant musical style, Montreal-based electropop crooner Jef Barbara has managed to create a unique persona for himself since launching his musical endeavors in 2009. Though his obvious DIY aesthetic might hinder Barbara's ability to attract new fans, it's nevertheless fairly respectable because he's not a contrived entity of any interested commercial institutions. With a strong bedroom production style and what could be called overtly flamboyant personal characteristics, Barbara is a superstar in his own mind. Whether or not he attracts listeners seems to be the least of his worries.
