Capitalizing on the path laid out by groups like The White Stripes and The Black Keys, The Copper Gamins creates a dirty and lo-fi spin on blues-rock. Unlike those aforementioned bands, however, the members of The Copper Gamins come from Mexico--a country not typically synonymous with the traditional blues the band uses as inspiration. Now based in San Antonio, Texas, the guitar/drums duo's sound is dirty, loose and blisteringly loud, which makes it perfect for fans of visceral rock and roll. The group's sets occasionally even include modern rehashes of classic blues tunes, such as Mississippi John Hurt's "Candyman Blues."
