Marmalakes

Marmalakes is an American indie folk trio from Texas. Comprised of all Austin natives, the members of the band formed around 2008 and began to write songs in the modern folk pop style embodied by popular groups such as Fleet Foxes and Dawes. The trio's songs are stripped-down in arrangement and instrumentation, but lush with interesting multi-part vocal harmonies. After a couple of self-released EPs in 2010 and 2011, Marmalakes aims to make a push for a wider following in 2012, with a new split 7" and an appearance at the South By Southwest music showcase in its hometown of Austin.
