Best known as founder and front man of My Morning Jacket, Jim James (or Yim Yames) is also an active solo musician who has released several tribute albums, lent vocals and guitar work to several respected bands and helped form supergroup Monsters of Folk (also featuring members of Bright Eyes and M.Ward). Similar to his work for My Morning Jacket, James' solo work draws on folk and rock and roll, with a focus on strong guitar work--James was ranked in Rolling Stone's "20 New Guitar Gods" list.
