Tomte is a German indie rock/pop band from Hamburg. They were founded in 1991 and were influenced by the genre called "Hamburger Schule" (Hamburg School) and especially by the band Tocotronic, for which singer/songwriter of Tomte, Thees Uhlmann, worked as a roadie. Tomte's style could be described as guitar pop with a slight influence of punk with emotionally profound lyrics.
