Hans Peter Wilhelm "Hape" Kerkeling is a successful German actor, author, presenter, musician as well as a famous comedian. Recently he is best known for dressing up as one of his imaginary characters and playing pranks on people using obscure and bizarre behavior. His most famous character is an abortive journalist and alcoholic by the name of Horst Schlämmer, whose hilarious antisocial behavior just drives people crazy. In 2006, Kerkeling also wrote a book about his pilgrimage on the Way of St James, named Ich bin dann mal weg (I'm Off for a Bit, Then), becoming the best selling book in Germany in 2006.
