After attaining a music degree from Sarah Lawrence College, New Jersey-born Stacey Kent decided to move to England and study at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama. While investing all of her time in her sonic studies, Kent started making a style of music based in jazz but also in modern sensibilities. She released her debut album in 1997 and over the years Kent's vintage style of music has been met with mixed results.
