Formed in Scottland in 1983, The Proclaimers is a folk rock duo comprised of identical twins Craig and Charlie Reid. Hailed for their undeniable chemistry, the brothers create music as if they were extensions of one another and have mastered the art of blending folk with new wave, pop and punk music. After releasing its 1988 album Sunshine on Leith, which featured "I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)," one of the band's most recognizable songs, The Proclaimers assembled a live band and embarked on a nine-month long world tour that pushed the Reid brothers to the forefront of modern folk music. With its euphoric attitude and raw folk music, The Proclaimers has become an integral part of Scottish culture.
