American actor, comedian and writer Phil LaMarr took the comedy circuits by storm in the early 1990s with his work on the TV series Mad TV. A native of Los Angeles, he first got involved in sketch comedy during his time at Yale University. He founded his own comedy troupe there and was an active participant in the university's theater productions. In Mad TV, he played the role of several characters such as Desperation Lee, the R&B singer Savante and Jaq the UBS Guy. His prolific film career boasts names like Pulp Fiction, Evil Alien Conquerors and Spider-Man 2.
