The Melismatics

Formed in the early 2000s by four Minneapolis-based musicians, The Melismatics quickly developed a characteristic synthpop style, equally indebted to 1980s new wave and 1990s grunge. The group soon caught the attention of Susstones Records, who helped create a shiny and highly produced sophomore album for the band, titled New Infection, in 2003. Since then, the female-fronted outfit has continued to expand its following with new releases and an ardent touring schedule.
