Tampere Filharmonia is, with 97 members, the only full symphony orchestra outside the Finnish capital. The orchestra is especially known for its recordings of such composers as Englund, Klami, Melartin, Merikanto, Prokofjev, Schumann and Sibelius. The orchestra was formed in 1930 and it performs regularly in Tampere-talo.
