Channeling music eras of the past, Trent Dabbs and Amy Stroup are the masterminds behind Sugar & the Hi Lows. The Nashville-based duo was raised on Motown music of the 1950s and 1960s, and inspired by soul legends Otis Redding, Marvin Gaye and The Temptations, resulting in a rockabilly-soul sound that is rooted in indie pop and dripping with nostalgia. The band's 2011 self-titled debut introduces the Sugar & the Hi Lows' fresh sound with its catchy hooks, playful lyrics and sugar coated melodies.
