Absu is an extreme metal band from Dallas, Texas that was founded in 1989. Blending hard rock genres like black and thrash metal with the traditional styles of Celtic music and various folk sounds, Absu has managed to carve out a unique sonic niche for itself in the multifaceted and oftentimes difficult to navigate world of modern music. Creating a unique sound for itself the band calls "mythological occult metal," Absu also incorporates various supernatural themes into its music that center around the occult, Sumerian legends and alchemy.
