Born in Jamaica, dancehall singjay Winstrong now takes up residence in the San Francisco Bay Area, where a strong reggae and dancehall scene exists. Winstrong's music keeps with a conscious dancehall tradition, speaking to themes of violence, youth, politics and the legalization of marijuana. He plays in and around the US, but mostly stays on the West Coast, where the reggae and dancehall market is strongest.
