Balthrop, Alabama is an indie folk band from New York City that was founded by Alabama-born siblings Pascal and Lauren Balthrop. With a line-up that ranges from 11 to 13 musicians and a sound that straddles the line between indie rock and anti folk, the band dropped its double album debut, Your Big Plans and Our Little Town, in 2007. After a series of EPs and tours, Balthrop, Alabama earned a sizable fan base before releasing its first studio album, We Have Electricity, in 2012.
