About

Jonathan Piuze-Roy born on March 15, 1989 is a Canadian pop singer and songwriter known professionally as Jonathan Roy. The son of Hockey Hall of Famer Patrick Roy, he initially pursued a hockey career but shifted to music in 2007, encouraged by his father. Influenced by his mother's piano playing and his love for artists like Backstreet Boys and John Mayer, Roy began writing and composing music in his teens. His debut album, What I've Become (2009), marked his entry into the music scene, followed by Found My Way (2010) and La Route (2011). His major-label debut, Mr. Optimist Blues (2017), produced by Corey Hart, showcased a blend of modern pop with reggae influences. Roy is also known for his role in the 2012 revival of Don Juan and his collaboration on Serena Ryder’s charity single in 2023.
