Hemlocke Springs, born on November 16, 1998, and the stage name of Isimeme "Naomi" Udu, is an emerging artist known for her unique blend of indie pop and experimental music. Raised in Concord, she developed an interest in electronic music during middle school, experimenting with GarageBand and drawing inspiration from artists like Calvin Harris and Tiesto. Udu earned a biology degree from Spelman College and a master’s in medical informatics from Dartmouth College. Her stage name, created with a random name generator, adds an "e" to "Hemlock" in tribute to Lorde. Influenced by EDM artists like Avicii and K-pop, her music blends lo-fi and indie pop, earning comparisons to Grimes and praise from Pitchfork. Her debut single, "Gimme All Ur Luv," released on May 24, 2022, garnered over a million Spotify streams and acclaim from Complex. Follow-up singles "Girlfriend" and "Stranger Danger!" also surpassed a million streams.
