Sprung Monkey is an alternative rock band from San Diego that flirted with mainstream success in the late-1990s. Founded in 1991, the band's early material was full of pop-tinged punk rock that made it a popular pick on soundtracks for snowboarding and skateboarding videos. With the release of Mr. Funny Face in 1998, however, Sprung Monkey unexpectedly hit it big with the single "Get 'Em Out Of Here," which suddenly could be heard all over the radio and seen regularly on MTV. Like many other alternative rock one hit wonders of the 1990s, the band fell out of the spotlight after the song's popularity died down, though it did land a handful of songs on film soundtracks over the following few years. Sprung Monkey broke up in 2002 but reunited a few years later to continue touring.
