The Australian cricket team Sydney Sixers was formed in 2011 as a successor of the New South Wales Blues. The team debuted in the first season of the newly formed Big Bash League (BBL), which is the country’s domestic Twenty20 competition. Sydney Sixers managed to outperform the other competitors and became the champion. This provided a fantastic start to the then newly formed team. It kept this momentum going and won the Champions League Twenty20 tournament in 2012. Many skilled players such as Brad Haddin, Steve Smith, Nic Maddinson have previously played for this team. It plays its home games at Sydney Cricket Ground and continues to be a worthy contestant in the BBL.
