St. Even is the alias of musician, singer/songwriter and Baltimore native Steven Hefter. As of 2011, St. Even has released three albums starting with his 2007 indie rock debut, Twist and Hold 'Til Morning. His alternative-indie rock sound took on folk and pop undertones after his first release, particularly for his 2011 album Spirit Animal, which he recorded with Jake Kelly and several of his other friends. The album earned St. Even praise for his precisely worded poetic lyrics and dark chamber pop songwriting.
