The Bay Area's Loma Prieta is a hardcore band based in San Francisco that has managed to stay somewhat of an underground secret since it formed in 2005. However, with four studio albums under its belt, the four-piece band has developed a strong following, partially derived from the fans of the member's other bands, Punch, Beau Navire, Us and Haunted bodies. Despite its members belonging to a number of other hardcore acts, Loma Prieta has toured the North America, Japan, and Mexico several times. The band's 2011 album I.V., is packed with melancholy chaos, offering Loma Prieta fans a more emotionally grinding atmosphere compared to the band's early work.
