Th' Dudes

Th' Dudes was a pop/rock group from Auckland, New Zealand. Dave Dobbyn, Ian Morris, Peter Urlich and Perter Coleman formed Th' Dudes in 1975 when they were students at Sacred Heart College, highly influenced by the British Invasion and new wave sounds of Iggy Pop. The band started off as a cover band for private parties and soon developed a reputation for high energy shows and skillful instrumentation. Th' Dudes slowly built a repertoire of original songs, finally releasing its debut album Right First Time, in 1979. Two more successful albums later, the band broke up in the mid-1980s but left a string of hits, including its most famous track, "Bliss." Th' Dudes reunited in 2006 to participate in the Radio Hauraki's 40th Anniversary Tour and played multiple shows on the Summer of Love tour in New Zealand during the rest of the 2000s.
