Sun Kil Moon is primarly the sonic venture musician Mark Kozelek, most likely best known for his involvement in the group Red House Painters. In Sun Kil Moon, Kozelek composes all the music and writes all the lyrics in a quintessential modern folk approach. He is accompanied by Tim Mooney and Anthony Koutsos on drums and Geoff Stanfield on bass. The band takes its name after Korean lightweight boxer Sung-Kil Moon.
