Raymond Devos (1922-2006) was a humorist, stand-up comedian and clown from Mouscron, Belgium who is best known for his ability to play with language in a way that is both hilarious and sophisticated. He decided early in life to take on the art of miming under the tutelage of its most legendary performer, Marcel Marceau, who also taught him acting. Devos went on to perfect his unique brand of surrealist humor and become one of the French-speaking world's most revered intellectual comics.
