About
Quicksand (years active: 1990–1995; 1997–1999) was a post hardcore act from New York City that released two almost universally acclaimed studio albums over the course of its short career. Since forming in 1990, Quicksand managed to get enough material together to release its first album, Slip, which was considered to be a phenomenal debut in the post hardcore genre. The album would only be surpassed by the band's follow-up record, Manic Compression, which almost served to catapult Quicksand onto the mainstream touring circuit. Unfortunately, due to internal conflict, the members of Quicksand decided to disband in 1995 at the height of their success.
