Peter Alexander (1926-2011) was the stage name for Peter Alexander Ferdinand Maximilian Neumayer, a singer and performer from Vienna, Austria who is best known for his popular comedy films during the 1950s and 1960s, as well as his recordings of German Schlager and operetta. Rising to the level of superstar through his extensive work on Austrian television, film and in music, Peter Alexander became a household name in Austria throughout much of the 20th Century.
