Formed in 1991 in Manchester, England by two brothers and three other instrumentalists, Oasis would go on to become one of the most popular bands to emerge out of the Britpop scene. The group's first two albums would establish it as one of the more popular groups of its generation, though after 1997's Be Here Now, Oasis started to drift into cliche territory and was pigeonholed into its characteristic antithetic, working class music style. Though the band managed to maintain its popularity, personal friction, on behalf of the outfit's two brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher, forced the group to break up in 2009.
