Southstar, born Leon Kirschnek, is a German techno DJ and music producer who emerged on the music scene in late 2021. Known for his lo-fi house style, he released his debut EP Blue Tape in 2021, followed by Green Lights and Matrix in 2022. His single "Miss You" sparked controversy for its similarities to Oliver Tree's "Jerk," leading to a chart-topping hit and a dispute with Robin Schulz. Southstar’s later works include Back Seat Tape (2022), Dunes (2023), and collaborations such as "We Are the People" (Southstar Remix) with Empire of the Sun. Awarded gold records in Poland and Germany, Southstar has made notable contributions to the electronic music landscape and continues to collaborate with artists like Ski Aggu and Ellie Goulding.
