Moxy Früvous (years active: 1989-2002) was a folk-pop band from Ontario, Canada that is perhaps best known for a comic and politically satirical style of songwriting. Almost an immediate hit with crowds upon the group's formation in 1989, Moxy Früvous grew to become Canada's most successful independent act, with its hit "King of Spain" being the second Canadian #1 independent hit in the country's history. The band continued its unique comedy-driven brand of music throughout the 1990s, and in 2002, the members of Moxy Früvous amicably decided to disband to pursue their own individual interests.
