Mic Christopher (1969-2001) was a singer/songwriter from Dublin, Ireland whose promising rise on the Irish indie rock scene was tragically cut short by a head injury that took his life at the age of 32. Born in New York City, Christopher's family returned to their native Ireland when he was still a young child. Learning and performing traditional Irish music with friends of his, Christopher eventually earned a reputation for himself in Dublin as a particularly talented musician, and in 1990 he formed his first band The Mary Janes, which enjoyed a comfortable level of success throughout the 1990s. In 2001, Mic Christopher embarked on a promising solo career that was ended by his death following a fall from a stage in the Netherlands. The album he was working on at the time, Skylarkin', was released posthumously in 2002 to substantial critical acclaim.
