Mest (years active: 1995-2006; 2008) was a pop punk band from Blue Island, Illinois that enjoyed considerable success over the course of its 11 year run, and contributed much to the evolution of pop punk leading into the 21st Century. Although the band wouldn't start seeing its music on the music charts until late in its career, Mest managed to amass a substantial cult following that still holds the band in high esteem to this day. Due to the band's drummer becoming weakened by surgery for carpel tunnel syndrome in 2005, Mest decided to disband in 2006 to pursue other projects.
