About

Lost Boyz was a hip hop group from Queens originally consisting of front man and MC Mr. Cheeks, backup MC Freaky Tah, DJ Spigg Nice, Pretty Lou and Levert Anthony. The group was signed to Uptown Records after the released its debut single "Lifestyles Of The Rick & Shameless," in 1995. Lost Boyz's single "Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood," became certified gold in 1996, shortly before the group released its debut album Legal Drug Money. The album held five Top 40 hits and was also certified gold by the end of the year. Along with Wu-Tang Clan, Coolio and Fat Joe, the group contributed to the Red Hot Organization's CD America is Dying Slowly, to raise awareness of the AIDS epidemic among African Americans. In 1999, Freaky Tah was shot in the head while leaving Mr. Cheek's birthday party in Queens, and the remaining members of Lost Boyz finished and released the groups third album LB IV Life, before splitting up to pursue solo careers.
