Kid 'n Play was an American hip-hop duo comprised of Christopher "Kid" Reid and Chris "Play" Martin. Perhaps best known for their unique hairstyles and starring appearances in popular early-1990s films such as the House Party series, the two were nevertheless legitimate rappers who subscribed to old-school hip-hop styles and ideals. The two formed in their high school years, joining forces to create a fun-loving project that strove to combine a lighthearted comedic approach with straight-forward party rap. Reid and Martin's somewhat clean-cut image and unique fashions made them easily identifiable up until around 1993, when they began to fade out of the pop culture spotlight.
