Featuring ex-members of Jawbreaker and Texas Is The Reason, Jets to Brazil was an emo-rock super group of sorts. The band formed in Brooklyn in 1997, and while its songs approach the angst and punk-tinged rock of its member’s former projects, the songwriting is more varied and restrained. Along with bands like The Promise Ring and The Get Up Kids, Jets To Brazil developed a devoted following of fans who related to its melancholy, introspection, and lyrically driven music. The band broke up in 2003, shortly after the release of its third album, Perfecting Loneliness.
