Iron Monkey

Iron Monkey was a metal band that formed in 1994 in Nottingham. The original lineup of Johnny Morrow on vocals, Jim Rushby and Steve Watson on guitar, Justin Greaves on drums and Doug Dalziel on bass created a sledge metal sound that was a mixture of hardcore punk and doom metal. The band's self-titled debut album was released in 1995, but it wasn't until Iron Monkey's second studio album, Our Problem, that the band received critical acclaim. Due to production disagreements and tension within the band, Iron Monkey disbanded in 1999, shortly after releasing its final album We Learned Nothing, a split CD with Japanese doom metal band Church of Misery. The band regrouped in 2016 with original members Rushby and Watson.
