Alexis Lanaras, known as LEX, is a Greek rapper born in Thessaloniki on September 25, 1984. He began his journey as a graffiti artist with 2G (Good Guys) before transitioning to music, co-founding North Stars in 1999. After releasing four albums with the group, LEX pursued a solo career in 2010. His debut solo album, Humble and Hungry (2014), was praised by Vice as a raw portrayal of Greek hip hop. LEX continued his success with the album 2XXX (2018) and held a record-breaking concert in Thessaloniki in 2022, drawing 30,000 fans. His third album, Metro, also released in 2022, reflects his dark, anti-poetic style, tackling themes like the financial crisis, corruption, and crime. His music is noted for its gritty, often crude lyricism.
