Gimmel

Gimmel was a Finnish pop group that formed in 2004 as a result of the reality television series, Popstars. Originally comprised of four members, Jenni Vartiainen, Susanna Korvala, Ushma Karnani, and Jonna Pirinen, Gimmel was reduced to a trio after in-band tension led Pirinen to leave the band and pursue a solo career. In 2002, the group released its debut single "Etsit Muijaa Seuraavaa," which reached the number one spot on the Finnish Singles Chart within the first week of its release. Later the same year, Gimmel released its debut album Lentoon, to widespread commercial success. The album immediately reached the number one spot on the Finnish Albums Charts and eventually became Finland's best-selling album of 2002. Gimmel was recognized with three Emma Awards in 2003, including the award for New Pop/Rock Artist of the year. Despite the group's early success, Gimmel disbanded in 2004.
