Gerald Levert (1966-2006) was an R&B singer/songwriter from Cleveland, Ohio who stood as one of the most promising talents in R&B before passing away a year after the release of his 10th album in 2005. As a son of famed soul singer Eddie Levert, Gerald Levert's first breakout hit "Baby Hold Onto Me" was a duet with his father and hit #1 on the R&B single charts. As a result of his new-found success, Levert had the confidence and backing to record and produce several albums throughout the 1990s and early-2000s, which included several hits that would rank highly on various pop and R&B charts. Although Gerald Levert's career was cut short when the singer accidentally took a fatal combination of over-the-counter drugs, his illustrious career in R&B will not soon be forgotten.
