Gasolin' (years active: 1969-1978) was a rock band from Copenhagen, Denmark that came about as a rather successful synthesis of rock styles made popular like bands and musicians of the period, such as Jimi Hendrix and The Beatles. Unlike many non-native English speaking bands of the time, Gasolin' made the decision to perform a majority of its songs in Danish, which served to make its music more expressive and relevant to its audience. The band became a great success in Denmark, and throughout the 1970s, until disbanding in 1978, Gasolin' was considered to be the most popular band in the country.
