Failure is a Los Angeles-based alternative rock band that formed in 1990. The group hit a stride quickly in 1992, recording its debut LP with legendary producer Steve Albini and later opening for the alternative metal band Tool on tour. Failure's style merges post-grunge songwriting with a touch of psychedelic space rock, all bolstered by the solid chops of songwriting/multi-instrumentalist duo, Ken Andrews and Greg Edwards. Crunchy guitar tones are layered atop songs that are ultimately rooted in tried-and-true pop-rock songcraft, perhaps best encapsulated on the band's 1996 album, Fantastic Planet. Failure disbanded in 1997 due to personal differences between its members, but resurfaced with the 2015 album, The Heart is a Monster.
