Eazy-E

Eric Lynn Wright was born in the Los Angeles enclave of Compton in 1963. During Wright's youth, his hometown would build a reputation for itself for its rampant gang violence. A product of his community, Writing would see illegal activities going on around him and glamorize it in rap lyrics he would come up with. Donning himself Easy-E, he formed a gangsta rap group with five other like-minded individuals that was called N.W.A. in 1986. The outfit would find immense fame with its hit 1988 LP, Straight Outa Compton, although after relations in the group became tense, it disbanded in 1991. Eazy-E would go on to have a somewhat successful solo career, although after contracting the AIDS virus, he would die from complications in 1995.
