Duane Allman

During his short life, Duane Allman's prolific career as a guitar player would establish him as one of the best players to have ever picked up a six-string. Splitting his youth between stints in Florida and Nashville, Tennessee, Duane started learning the guitar from a young age, and in 1969, along with his brother Greg, he formed The Allman Brothers Band. Though Duane primarily played with the Allman Brothers, he would also play hired gun and appear on notable releases like Derek and the Dominos' 1970 classic, Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs. Life would be cut tragically short for Duane when in 1971, he fell victim to a fatal motorcycle accident.
