Colonel Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains was an experimental rock super group that formed in 2002. Led by mastermind and bassist Les Claypool, the band also featured guitarist Buckethead, Keyboardist Bernie Worrell and Drummer Bryan Mantia. After they met at the 2002 Bonnaroo Music and Arts festival in 2002, the four musicians began playing music together, joining each other on stage or meeting up for jam sessions. Colonel Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains' kept its music highly experimental and became notorious for never preparing a set-list or even songs to play on stage. The super group recorded its debut album The Big Eyeball in the Sky, in 2004, before embarking on an 18 state tour of the US. As of 2011, the album was the final effort from Colonel Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains.
