Carl Fontana

Carl Fontana was an American jazz trombonist who was well-respected amongst serious jazz connoisseurs for his impressive soloing abilities. Born and raised in Lousiana, Fontana was taught jazz music by his father, who was an accomplished violin and saxophone player, and soon young Fontana was performing in bands, eventually graduating from Louisiana State University with a degree in music education in 1950. Fontana would shortly go on to make a name for himself in the jazz world with his adept skills and impressive improvisational soloing abilities by playing with an assorted cast of bands, spending an ardent amount of time touring and playing to enraptured audiences.
