Benny Joy

Benny Joy was a rockabilly singer/songwriter and musician born in Atlanta as Benjamin Eidson. Most known for his work in the 1950s, Joy recorded several of his own compositions such as his 1957 song "Spin the Bottle" and his swanky 1958 ballad "I'm Doubtful of Your Love," which never received nationwide success during his lifetime. His classics are now cherished by rockabilly collectors, particularly his original recording of "Rollin' the Juke Box Rock" from 1957. Joy toured Europe in 1958 and then again in 1959, becoming one of the first rockabilly acts to do so.
