Named after the 1980s heavy metal hair cuts, The Poodles had its breakthrough in Melodifestivalen 2006 with the song "Night of Passion." Even though the song didn´t win, it was certified platinum and the album Metal Will Stand Tall was released shortly after. In 2009 The Poodles released its third album Clash of the Elements.
