Parenthetical Girls is an experimental pop band from Portland, Oregon that is best known for its unique ability to "intellectualize" styles of pop music that doesn't typically appeal to those with much intelligence. The band's music is not for everyone, and sometimes its more artistic and experimental elements might come across to listeners as being a bit pretentious or blasé. However, Parenthetical Girls seem to have the right idea with their music, and like much of their musical influences, it may take band a while to find a happy medium between the experiment and entertainment.
